Local arts academies presented Christmas recitals

WESTMORE MUSIC ACADEMY presented its Christmas recital on Dec. 13. Participating in the recital  were Graham Able, Rachel Cobb, Lane Estrada, Rebecca Pitts, Hallie Wielfaert, Eli Blake, Myles Mann, Anna Thompson, Emma Waldrop, Calissa Porter, Caelie Porter, Rachel Rio, Grace Tinsley, Julie Edwards, Linda Eubanks, Nathanael Lamon, Emily Powers, Samuel Lee, Savannah Rymer, Dylan Rymer and Keegan Westra.

Students of Westmore Music Academy presented their annual Christmas recital on Dec. 13 in the sanctuary of Westmore Church of God.

A variety of traditional Christmas carols was performed. Students of Rita Ready, Amanda Lackey, Judy Warrington, Vera Voznyuk and Bethany Freesen were included.

The program ended with a performance of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” arranged by DeCou and played by Ready.

Westmore Academy offers private instruction in piano, violin, guitar and voice, as well as other instruments.

Classes in ballet, hip-hop, creative movement and contemporary dance will be offered in the spring semester.

Kindermusik for children, ages newborn to 7 years, is offered with teacher Dee Lancaster. The new semester began Jan. 2. For more information about the academy, contact Ready, academy director, at 299-4232; or email rita_ready@hotmail.com.

North Cleveland Academy of the Arts presented its students in a Christmas recital on Dec. 15 in the chapel at North Cleveland Church of God.

Those who participated were students of Ruth James and Ready, instructors.
