Three North Lee Elementary students placed in the Sumdog Statewide Math Competition.

Alex Kyle placed first, Jordan Lumpkin sixth and Eli Wilson seventh.

North Lee Elementary School had 203 students participate in the two-week competition. The students correctly answered 199,434 math problems with an overall 85 percent accuracy. Sumdog.com is a website that offers free math games to play, either at home or at school. They cover 100 numeracy skills, split into 10 levels. Students can play against their classmates or thousands of students worldwide. Because the games are so engaging, students can enjoy developing their mental math skills.

Director of Bradley County Schools Johnny McDaniel and North Lee Principal Nat Akiona were there in the last hour of the competition to applaud the determination of the top winners. The school also had a party for their top 16 who placed.
