Roland Stephen Weatherford, 57, a resident of Cleveland, passed away at his home on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012.

He was a native of Roswell, Ga., moving to Cleveland more than 20 years ago.

He was of the Church of God faith and was a member of the Hickory Flat Church of God in Hickory Flat, Ga. and attended the North Cleveland Church of God locally.

He worked many years in the restaurant industry as an owner of his own restaurant and was also a Volunteer Fireman for more than 20 years while living in Roswell.

He loved antique cars and enjoyed spending his spare time going to antique car shows. He was a very kind, loving and forgiving father who was generous and compassionate to all he came in contact with, be it human or pet. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Cora Walker Weatherford.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Louie Weatherford Sr. of Roswel; son, Aaron Weatherford and his wife, Sarah, of Cleveland; daughter, Makenzie Weatherford of Cleveland; brother, Louie Weatherford Jr. of Roswell and a host of extended family members.

A memorial service will be held in the Dixon Chapel of the North Cleveland Church of God, Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., 335 11th St. Cleveland, TN 37311. The Rev. Cy Harris will be officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 prior to the service.

A second memorial service will be held at the Hickory Flat Church of God, 947 Bailey Road, Hickory Flat, Ga. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Brenda Haney will officiate the service along with Andy and Connie McDowell. Music will be provided by Roland’s cousins, Jeff and Andy McDowell.
