She was born on March 14, 1923, a daughter of the late Homer Vernon Sr. and Ellen Mae Rue Vernon.
She was a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area.
She was a very happy and loving person, and a wonderful mother and grandmother who took great pride in taking care of her family.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Herman D. “Bud” Davis Sr.; three brothers: Alfred Vernon, Homer Vernon Jr. and James Robert Vernon; daughter-in-law, Peggy Davis; and granddaughter, Leanne Davis.
She leaves here to cherish her memory three sons: Herman D. Davis Jr., Robert Ted Davis and wife, Carrie, and Dennis Ray Davis and wife, Darlene; four grandchildren: Mike Davis, Burt Davis, Roger Gerald, and Renee Pugh; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, 2412 Georgetown Road N.W., Cleveland, with the Rev. Art Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church Friday prior to the service.
Interment will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
