He was a member of Central Church of Christ. He was a former teacher at Arnold School and Mayfield School and the principal at Templeton Hill and Cleveland Junior High School.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Estes Frisbee, of Cleveland; sister, Eloise Snody of Farmington Hills, Mich.; daughters: Jill Sullivan of Nashville, DeeAnn Gionta of Knoxville and Lisa Benedict of Ringgold, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
The family and friends will assemble at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home for departure at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Tommy Jones, David Allen, Tommy Allen, Ted Sullivan, Deane Gionta, David Gionta, Bob Benedict and Mike Adams will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Payne, Ed Allen, Warren Brewster, Larry Speight, Gene Officer and Tom Butler.
