BASEBALL

WV HITTING & PITCHING CAMPS

The Walker Valley Hitting & Pitching Camps will be held Jan. 29, Feb. 5 and 12 at the WVHS hitting facility. Instruction will be provided for kindergarden through eighth-grade participants. The Cost is $100 for each camp or $150 for both. Registration will be held Jan. 8 from 2-3:30 p.m. at the hitting facility. SUMMER BASEBALL

A Cleveland based, 16-under baseball team is looking for local players to play in Knoxville, Chattanooga and nearby North Georgia tournaments commencing after the high school season. The team is looking for a strong catcher, several skilled position players and quality pitchers. Tryouts will be held in February. For more information, email summerbaseball@charter.net.

U.S. BASEBALL ACADEMY

U.S. Baseball Academy will offer advanced hitting, pitching, fielding/baserunning and catching training programs and instruction at Cleveland State Community College, under the direction of Cleveland State Community College Head Baseball Coach, Mike Policastro.The instruction dates are Feb. 5, and 12.

TRYOUT TUNE-UP

The second annual Tryout Tune-Up will take place the on the final two Sundays in January. Robbie Winters, former Bradley Central, Cleveland State, and Lee University baseball player and former head coach at Lake Forest Middle School, will be directing the clinic. The tune-up will emphasize offensive and defensive fundamentals for each camper. All young men, ages 5-15, planning on playing baseball this spring are encouraged to attend. SOFTBALL

COUNTY UMPIRE MEETINGS

The Bradley County Softball Association is recruiting umpires and scorekeepers for the 2012 season. Meeting dates and times are; Sunday, Feb. 12 at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. All meetings will be held at the South Cleveland Community Center. INDOOR SOFTBALL CLINIC

An indoor softball clinic with April Richards will run on Tuesdays during January at the indoor facility at Bradley Square mall. The clinic will focus on all basic skills of softball for ages 4-17. The cost $100 at the door. For more information, call Toye at 313-8891.

ISA BASH-4-CASH

The 12th annual Bash-4-Cash softball tournament for classes C, D, E and women’s leagues will be held March 12 at The Summit softball complex. There will also be a co-ed tournament. YOUTH TOURNAMENT

There will be an ISA youth softball tournament of teams 6-under through 16-under March 24 at Tinsley Park. Prizes will be awarded for first through third-place finishers. The cost is $50 per team for 6- and 8-under and $200 per team for 10- through 14-under. There is a four game guarantee. VOLLYBALL

OCOEE MIDDLE SCHOOL TRYOUTS AND CLINIC

Ocoee Middle School will be having volleyball tryouts on Jan. 28 in the gymatorium. The sixth-grade tryouts will be from 8 until 10 a.m. Seventh-grade tryouts will be from 10 until 11:30 a.m. and eighth-grade tryouts from 11:30 until 12:30 p.m. There will be a mini volleyball clinic on Jan. 27 from right after school until 5 p.m. The cost is $10.
