Bentley Carter Hughes, the 10-pound, 2-ounce, 21 1/2-inch, newborn baby of Christy Marie Roberts and Johnny Ray Hughes, of Calhoun, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at a Chattanooga health care facility.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Hattie Louella Roberts.

Survivors, other than his parents, include his sister, Alisha Sharon Hughes; a brother, Gaven Ray Hughes; paternal grandparents, Johnny Ray Sr. and Barbara Sue Ann Hughes of Calhoun; uncles and aunts: Jeff and Jennifer Morris of Charleston, Chasity Winkler of Calhoun, Evonne Harper of Calhoun, Clifford and Justa Guthrie of Cleveland and Buddy Hughes of Calhoun; and cousins: Hunter, Tyler and Jacob Morris, Mekaila Winkler and Hannah Roberts, Bailey Hughes, Kaylin, Mattie and Austin Hughes and Chandler Guthrie.

A graveside service was held Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at the Blevins Cemetery in McMinn County.

The North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
