Vision Hospitality Group has begun construction of a 97-room Hampton Inn on the northwest corner of Paul Huff Parkway and Frontage Road.

The four-story, $8.5 million hotel will be Vision Hospitality Group’s second property in the Cleveland market after the Fairfield Inn & Suites which opened in 2007. The new hotel is expected to open in Spring 2013 at about the same time the existing hotel on James Asbury Drive exits the Hampton Inn system. The two hotels may coexist for one or two months.

“We are thrilled to be building again in Cleveland,” said Mitch Patel, president/CEO of Vision Hospitality Group Inc. “Cleveland is a growing market and one that we know well. My father’s (Ish Patel) first hotel in the Southeast was in Cleveland in 1980 with the purchase of the Scottish Inn. I grew up in Cleveland so I am always excited to see how much the city has grown — to have the opportunity to contribute to that growth is a very rewarding experience.”

Andrew Hibbard, Vision Hospitality Group director of investments, said the Hampton Inn was designed with both today’s business and leisure traveler in mind. In addition to the 97 well-appointed guest rooms, the hotel will feature approximately 1,800 square-feet of meeting space, an indoor pool and hot tub, and a state-of-the-art exercise room and business center.

“Vision Hospitality has a penchant and the reputation of going above and beyond the requirements of the brand and I think that’s something that translates into happier guests,” Hibbard said. “People come stay at the property and we exceed their expectations. That’s something Mitch and his family have always prided themselves on.”

The amenities offered at the property are complemented by the collection of restaurants and stores within walking distance of the hotel.

“The Hampton Inn in Cleveland will be our second Hampton Inn-branded hotel and we truly feel this is one of the best brands available today, and a perfect fit for the current market dynamics in Cleveland.” Patel said.
