Ana Coscorrosa and Dezirae Parsons led the Lee University offense to a doubleheader sweep of Tennessee Wesleyan College Wednesday afternoon at Butler Field. Lee (4-0) claimed a run-rule shortened second game, 10-2, after squeezing out a 4-1 margin in the opener.

Coscorrosa was 5-for-8 in the two games with a double, a two-run home run and two runs scored. The sophomore backed up a 2-for-3 performance in the opener with three hits in four at bats in the nightcap.

Parsons was 3-for-3 with two runs scored in game one and finished the day 5-for-6 with three runs scored.

In the day’s second game, Lee plated four runs in the first inning, three more in the fourth and one in the fifth before Coscorrosa put the run-rule into effect with her two-run blast over the right field fence.

Jennifer Ringle was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Hannah Dominique was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Charlie Wooden was 1-for-2 with a two-run double.

Jessa Watts won her second game of the season after allowing just one hit and one run in four innings of work. The lefty struck out four and walked none.

Katie Deems was tabbed for one run and one hit in two innings of relief. Deems walked one and struck out one.

Rachele Moretta and Macey Trentham picked up the two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Bulldogs (0-2). Moretta stroked a solo home run in the loss.

Sarah Kilgore gave up 13 hits and nine earned runs, while striking out one in 5 2/3 innings pitched.

In the opener, Lee took advantage of a couple of TWC errors to take a 2-0 lead after two innings. The Lady Bulldogs would pull within one with a single tally in the sixth, but the Lady Flames answered with two of their own to solidify the final difference.

Tabitha Farrow joined Coscorrosa and Parsons with multiple hits. Farrow was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Parsons scored twice and Jenevieve Cena crossed the plate once.

Brittany Balough recorded the complete game five-hitter. Balough (1-0) struck out six and walked none.

Moretto tallied two singles, while Brooke Ward doubled and scored the Lady Bulldogs’ lone run.

Kelly Walker was charged with the loss in the circle after giving up 10 hits and two earned runs in six innings. Walker struck out three and did not issue a walk.

The Lady Flames will remain at home and host SSAC foe Faulkner University on Saturday afternoon. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
