He was the son of the late Emmie Dixon Flowers and William J. Flowers. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Flowers; sister, Pansy Daugherty; and his brothers: Albert and Joe Flowers.
He was retired from Peyton’s with more than 12 years of service. He was also a retired minister with the Church of Christ, ministering at Union Grove Church of Christ and churches in Englewood, Andrews, N.C., Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia and several other local churches.
He enjoyed woodworking and visiting hospital and nursing home patients and the shut-ins.
He was a member of East Side Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Nipper Flowers, of Cleveland; son, Kenneth Flowers and his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Alleen Flowers; grandchildren: Nicole and Cody Flowers, all of Cleveland and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; stepsons: Robert Nipper and his wife, Judy, Roger Nipper and his wife, Lynn, all of Cleveland; his stepdaughters: Becky Frady and her husband, Mark, and Karen Haun and her husband, Rodney, all of Cleveland; seven stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, from the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Ministers Bill Maynard and Jeff Archey officiating.
Interment will follow in the Union Grove Church of Christ Cemetery with Gary Beaty, Eddie Beaty, Rodney Casteel, Johnny Nix, Bill Flowers and Cody Flowers serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
