To The Editor:

I wish to express my excitement and gratitude to the city of Cleveland and the Public Works Department for the lovely Crape Myrtles and American Elms that were planted along Parker Street NE today. They will certainly improve the beauty of the street and, personally, my own view out my front and side windows. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Crape Myrtles in bloom and the elms leafed out.

As a resident who has returned to Cleveland after an almost 30-year absence, I have been very impressed with the improvements and the revitalization of the downtown area. It is gratifying too that Cleveland is participating in the return of the American Elm to our city’s streets.

Thanks to those who made this decision, and to the crews who did the labor in planting, watering and mulching these trees. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and will be enjoyed for years to come!
