According to a report filed by deputy Adam Ensley of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, he responded to 3774 Blue Springs Road Sunday and spoke with Fred Dunn.
A window air-conditioning unit, a DVD player, two chainsaws and a jewelry box and clock were discovered missing from his residence.
Crime scene detectives responded to the home and collected evidence left at the scene, according to Ensley.
Loss was estimated at $485.
Investigation is continuing.
• Meigs County law enforcement was involved in a pursuit and after an investigation was launched, concluded a scooter involved in the pursuit had been stolen in Bradley County.
According to a report filed by deputy David Harper of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, he was called to Morgan Road after Meigs County alerted him of the incident.
Carl Wade was notified the Yamaha scooter had been taken from his property.
According to the report, Meigs officials arrested and charged Robert Johnson with the alleged theft.
Johnson is in custody at the Meigs County Jail, according to the report.
The theft was reported Monday afternoon.
• Nearly $3,500 damage was done to two pieces of heavy equipment, according to a report filed by deputy Marshall Hicks.
Marvin Sledge of Athens was listed as the victim. His son Durand Sledge said someone shot out the windows of an excavator and damaged a skid steer while the equipment was parked at an Old Parksville Road/York Road property.
The incident was reported to BCSO officials Tuesday.
Seven windows had been damaged on the equipment.
Investigation is continuing, according to the report.
• Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Driver’s License Roadside Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County beginning this weekend.
The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.
According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the drivers license laws of the state.
All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
