Dennis Stafford, 66, of Benton, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He owned and operated S&S Rock Inc. in Old Fort.

He loved gardening, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and loved to work at his rock quarry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John (J.T.) and Edith Brackett Stafford.

His survivors include his wife Joyce Kincaid Stafford; children: Kari Stafford of Benton, Denny and Lori Stafford of Old Fort, Michael and Amy Stafford of Old Fort, Brian and Teresa Stafford, of Delano, Jill and Travis England of Delano and Tonya and Bob Williams of Cleveland; brothers and sisters: Don and Johnnie Stafford of Cleveland, John and Susan Stafford of Melrose, Fla., Ann and Dan Biggs of Casper, Wyo. and Jeanette and Dave Kinley of Old Fort; grandchildren: Ashley and Aryn Bain, Kallen Stafford, Cade, Kalby Stafford, Kaitlyn and Megan Stafford, Briar and Briene England and Tripk Woody.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with Buddy Ellis and the Rev. Steve Beavers officiating.

Interment will be Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at 1 p.m. in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
