The Lee University men’s soccer program is pleased to launch a new youth soccer league to be held on the campus of the university beginning March 13. Registration is now open for boys and girls ages 5-12 in grades preschool to sixth.
The league will be called “LEE 4V4” and will consist of “small-sided” games of four players on each squad on a smaller field with smaller goals. The format is recognized worldwide as the cutting edge for player development and participation for youth. The small-sided system enables young players to have more touches of the ball and involvement in the game, hence, greater joy and satisfaction in playing the sport of soccer.
The league is for recreational players just starting or for those young players who have some playing experience. The coaching staff will be comprised of Lee’s top players and coaches. The six-week league is designed to develop and encourage the young players in a caring environment with an emphasis on enhancing skill, technical ability and sportsmanship. Game will be played on Saturday mornings and a training session and clinic will be conducted each Tuesday evening.
