Roy Steven Melton, 56, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 27, 2012, at the residence.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Goodwin Melton; paternal grandparents, Horace and Lena Melton; and maternal grandparents, McKinley and Alice Goodwin.

He was a member of Local 46 Union and was an insulator for 30 years. He loved to hunt, fish and loved the outdoors. He was a great father and loving man. He was a member of Ocoee Church of God.

Survivors include his son, Josh Melton and his wife, Niki, of Cleveland; father, Horace N. Melton of Cleveland; brother, Horace L. Melton and his wife, Helen, of Cleveland; sisters: Beverley Murray of Cleveland, Sandy Dillard and her husband, Craig, of Cleveland; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Ocoee Church of God with Pastor Mike Rester and Pastor Charles Barrett officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Donny Murray, Christopher Dillard, Jonathan Dillard, Kenny Botts, Nathan Goodwin and Jason Harris serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Goodwin, Tim Goodwin and Ronnie Delay.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
