The uniquely named “Go, Slow, Whoa” eating habits have been an easy way to get the kids to understand the differences in foods.
“Go”— foods you eat almost anytime.
“Slow”— foods you eat sometimes.
“Whoa”— foods you eat once in a while.
Fifth-grade students had an opportunity to experience this first hand with a Go Food Celebration. They had healthy snacks, physical activity and music. For snacks, they enjoyed fresh vegetable cups with fat-free ranch dressing for dipping, low-fat vanilla yogurt for apple slices, strawberries, and blueberries, low-fat string cheese with wheat crackers, and cold bottled water. The celebration highlighted that healthy food can be fun.
