The Caring Place and Westside Ruritan will start the day out right by making the first meal of the day really count with a full-service breakfast Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m. at Mount Olive Church of God, in the Compassion Corner building.

Tickets are $5 per person, regardless of age, for all-you-can eat biscuits, gravy, sausage, and a beverage. Tickets for the event can purchased at Smalley’s Shoe Repair, from any Westside Ruritan member, or at the door.

The Westside Ruritan Club is a longtime sponsor of The Caring Place and originally approached the charity with the idea for the breakfast as a way to help fund work for the poor. The Ruritan Club assumed all expenses, so every penny spent on tickets goes straight to The Caring Place and into desperate hands in the community.

The Caring Place is a nonprofit organization based in Cleveland which focuses on meeting the basic needs of the local poor and disadvantaged. In 2011 alone, The Caring Place assisted 3,349 different households, provided 172 tons of food and helped 188 homeless households through the hands of more than 130 of its active volunteers.
