Joseph Newcomb, administrator at Bradley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, has tendered his resignation to the board of directors effective March 31.

The facility’s administrator came to BHRC in February 2008 as interim administrator until a new administrator could be found. He then decided to apply for the full-time position that was available, and was selected as the administrator in April 2008.

Newcomb has been a licensed nursing home administrator for more than 31 years, first beginning his career in the East Tennessee area. He then went with Life Care facilities and other firms. He has worked for several corporate companies.

In the 10 years before coming to BHRC, Newcomb did interim administrator work in many different states when companies needed an official to fill in between positions. He had returned to Collegedale from the Nashville area before coming to BHRC.

The employees and board extended Newcomb the best in his retirement. He is married and has three grown children.
