And that’s as it should be.
For these proud folks, you now have a unique opportunity to show off your precious little one while possibly earning the wiggly tike a child’s savings account at The Bank of Cleveland and a variety of additional gifts compliments of Cleveland area businesses and organizations.
It’s called “Cleveland’s Cutie,” a family-friendly contest sponsored by SkyRidge Medical Center, MyMix 104.1 and the Cleveland Daily Banner in conjunction with the annual Cleveland Baby Fair scheduled Sunday, April 15, at the Museum Center at Five Points.
Those parents, grandparents and guardians who want to bedazzle the community with your lovable angel should plan to fill out an entry form that is being published in our newspaper through March 15 in the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday editions. Once you’ve done so, drop it off to our office at 1505 25th St., along with a photograph of the baby whose age must range from birth to 18 months. The picture must be no smaller than 4x6 nor bigger than 8x10.
The entry form can be found on Page 31 of today’s edition. Those submitting entry forms and photos will be asked to complete a media release which grants permission to allow the photo to be published.
All photos should be identified only by first names and age; photos will not be returned. The person submitting the photo and entry form will be asked to provide identification and proof of legal guardianship. An information sheet detailing the judging process and contest procedures will be given to each contestant’s family. Those submitting the information and photos will also be given a coupon for a free gift at the Baby Fair.
One piece of advice — don’t delay! Entry deadline is Friday, March 16!
Once this deadline has passed, a full-sheet ballot page displaying the photographs will be published in the Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday editions from March 20 through April 8. Newspaper readers are asked to mark their ballot by filling out the form at the bottom of the page and mail it back to us or drop it off in person. If voting by mail, send it to Cleveland Daily Banner, 1505 25th St., Cleveland, TN 37311.
Banner readers will be asked to vote for their favorite picture. Only actual newspaper ballots will be accepted. No photocopies will be accepted.
Ballot deadline is on Monday, April 9.
The winner will be determined by the vote of the people in conjunction with special judges. The winner will be unveiled at the community-popular Baby Fair sometime around 3:30 p.m. following the entertaining “Cleveland’s Cutie Walk” by all participants. The contest’s runner-up also will be awarded a child’s savings account through Bank of Cleveland.
In addition to the “Cutie,” a “People’s Choice” award will be presented based on donations contributed at the Baby Fair to the donors’ baby of choice. The tike racking up the greatest number of contributions will be crowned winner of the coveted “People’s Choice” award.
All donations will support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The “People’s Choice” winner will be disclosed at the time of the contest announcement at about 3:30 p.m. following the “Cleveland’s Cutie Walk” by all participants. Contestants must be in attendance to claim the crowns and the prizes.
All contestants must be Tennessee residents. No entries will be accepted via the Internet. Full details may be obtained by sending an email to clevelandcutiecontest@gmail.com.
Go ahead. Make that cutie in the crib a certified “Cutie!”
