EVENSVILLE — Polk County softball started the season with the Lady Wildcats on the road at Rhea County. Despite a solid effort the Lady Eagles bested Polk by a final of 4-1.
Syndney Sloan plated the single Polk run when she went yard for a solo homer. Danielle Harvey connected for a double and Lily Cuzzort notched a base hit.
Jordan Triplett got the start for the Lady Wildcats and gave six solid innings, giving up two earned runs and fanning two while allowing no walks.
The Lady Wildcats will be back in action tonight as they host their home opener against Tellico Plains with first pitch slated for 5:30.
