Lee University junior Kris Hall has been named the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Pitcher of the Week, for the week ending March 11.
Hall hurled eight innings and allowed only two hits in the Flames’ 9-0 win over Loyola University. He fanned 15 and walked two.
The right-hander’s 15 strikeouts were just one shy of the Lee single-game record of 16, set by Jon Kirby in 2005 and matched by Kirby and Gabe Seten during the 2006 season.
For the year, Hall is 6-0 with an ERA of 0.68. In 40 innings, he has recorded 63 strikeouts and walked only 14 in leading the Flames to an impressive 25-2-1 record, including a 12-0 mark in SSAC play.
This is the first week of voting for baseball pitcher and player of the week awards. Lee takes the field again Wednesday afternoon against Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga.
