CHATTANOOGA — The Polk County Wildkittens were on the road Thursday to take on the East Ridge Lady Pioneers in some softball action.

Wildkitten bats were on fire as they shelled the host team with nine runs over seven innings and ran away with a 9-2 final.

Starter Jordan Triplett went seven strong for Polk, giving up nine hits and two earned but fanning nine East Ridge batters in the process.

The bats were working for Polk County too, as Danielle Harvey went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Lydia Triplett knocked in a pair, Sydney Sloan was 3-4 with two driven in, Caroline Jenkins went 1 for 2 and had a pair of runs batted in, J. Triplett went 2 for 4, Kaitlyn Williams had an RBI and Sydney Rogers went 1 for 2 with a pair driven in.

Polk County will be back in action today as they travel to Meigs County to participate in tournament play.

Things kick off with a game against Rhea County at 5:30 and another against Tellico Planes at 8:30.
