She was born in Newfoundland, Canada, on Dec. 9, 1929, a daughter of the late Alfred and Ida Berkshire.
She had been a resident of Cleveland since 1953. She loved life, enjoyed reading her Bible and was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Connolly Sr.; one son, David Berkshire Connolly; two sisters: Hazel Brennen and Ada Sheaves; one brother, Bill Berkshire; and one step-grandson, Michael Shannon.
Those who remain to cherish her memory include five children: Maureen Shannon (Larry), Diane Duggan, Mike Connolly Jr. (Jeanette), Shelia Henderson (Gregg) of Waunakee, Wis., and Joan Connolly (Mackenzie) of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren: David Chung (Erin) of Gaithersburg, Md., Lynda Casteel (Andy), Jake Duggan and Joe Duggan; one step-grandson, Matthew Freytag (Kellie); three loving great-grandchildren: Nellie Rose Chung, Lucy Frances Chung, and Barret Andrew Hamilton; one sister, Maude Barron; one brother, Bob Berkshire; and a host of other extended family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday,from 6 to 8 p.m.
A private graveside service is scheduled later at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
