For the second year in a row a Polk County 4-H member has come out on top during the annual Eastern Region 4-H History Bowl. 4-H History Bowl is a quiz bowl contest where 4-H members answer questions related to 4-H and Tennessee History. Christine Bear, a ninth-grader from Ocoee and a member of the 4-H Home School Club, earned her spot on the Eastern Region History Bowl Team, outscoring contestants from the 33 counties in the Eastern Region. Christine will be part of a two-member team to represent the Eastern Region 4-H Clubs in the State 4-H Congress History Bowl competition on April 2 in Nashville. Katie Thompson, another ninth-grade 4-H Club member at Polk County High School, also participated in the event. Both girls will be attending State 4-H Congress in April learning about state government and participating in state 4-H events such as History Bowl. Christine and Katie pose with 4-H Volunteer Bobbie Reagan, who travels to the contest with the contestants.
