Members of the Cleveland Kiwanis Club are gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year, scheduled just over two weeks away on Saturday, April 14.

This year’s event, always a popular family outing, will be held from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Bald Headed Bistro in Village Green.

Tickets are $6, with children 5 and under eating free. Tickets can be purchased from any Kiwanis Club member.

This year’s meal will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, milk and coffee.

Mayfield Dairy and Cooke’s Food Store are donating their products and their time to make this event a success for all charities supported by the Cleveland Kiwanis club. The Banner is assisting with promotion of the event.

The Village Green and The Bald Headed Bistro contribute to the event by supplying the venue and kitchen facilities. Kingsway Press owner and Kiwanis member Vince McLaughlin prints the tickets and other items throughout the year for the club.

All donations of food, advertising and free labor helped the Kiwanis Club to keep the price down so that the event could remain a family-friendly meal.

“It is a time for the whole town to have breakfast together while contributing to the children of our community,” said Kiwanis president Leigh Ann Boyd. The Kiwanis motto is “Serving Children of the World.”

Local organizations benefiting from Kiwanis donations include the 4-H clubs, Boys & Girls Clubs, Head Start, Key Clubs at Cleveland and Walker Valley high schools, Builder’s Club at Cleveland Middle School, and Kiwanis Foundation scholarships.

The Kiwanis Club also assists UNICEF’s Eliminate Project. The Eliminate Project provides vaccines for the prevention of maternal and neonatal tetanus throughout the world.
