He was born Dec. 20, 1938, in Fortville, Ind.
He was the son of the late Robert and Anne Curtis.
He moved to the Cleveland area approximately 44 years ago from Indianapolis, Ind.
He was an elder and member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served many years as church treasurer. Before retirement he worked as a corporate accountant.
He was an avid golfer and Indiana Hoosiers fan, but will be most remembered for being a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 43 years, Cecile Curtis; two sons: Bret Allen Curtis (Diana) of Sacramento, Calif., and Derek Curtis (Courtney Varela) of Boston; four grandchildren: Mandy Barnes of Cleveland, Mary Ann Bramhall (Andrew) of Belmont, Calif., Samuel Curtis and Kayla Clark, both of Sacramento; two great-grandchildren: Tristan and Hunter, both of Cleveland; and a host of extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 433 North Ocoee St., Cleveland, with the Rev. Joe Tanner officiating
The family will receive friends in the church narthex, Friday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to one of the following charities of your choice: Hospice of Chattanooga, the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Ark of Cleveland.
