Ringle was chosen from the 24 conference player of the week selections, among conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings, after earning Southern States Athletic Conference honors, Monday.
The Rio Vista, Calif., native turned in an outstanding week offensively, drilling 11 hits in 15 at bats in the 16th-ranked Lady Flames’ four wins. She turned in her best performance in game one against Point University on Wednesday, going 4-for-4 including a grand slam and a double totaling six RBIs and three runs scored.
“Ringle had a good week,” said Lee head coach Emily Russell. “She got to relax and focus on seeing pitches. I’m proud of the hard work she’s done and the scary thing is I know she can be even better.”
For the week Ringle tallied a pair of home runs and a pair of doubles to go with a triple, nine runs scored and 10 runs batted in.
Ringle and the Lady Flames are coming off a doubleheader sweep of No. 8 Brenau University (Ga.) and will travel to Columbus, Ga., this weekend for single games against each of the members of the SSAC West Division. The Lady Flames are currently 30-5, tops in the SSAC East at 9-1 and have won 10 straight.
The SSAC Crossover Tournament will begin with the Lee ladies pitted against Belhaven University (3 p.m.) and No. 24 University of Mobile (5 p.m.), Thursday, before a pair of games, Friday, against No. 18 Auburn University-Montgomery (12 p.m.) and Faulkner University (2 p.m.).
Lee and No. 7 William Carey University will play at 10 a.m., Saturday, followed by a noon matchup with Spring Hill College to close the tournament for the Lady Flames.
“I think this is a test run at the tournament. We will have a tough schedule and the west (division) has faced really tough competition all year. I am excited to see how we respond to such a grueling weekend,” added Russell.
Friday’s matchup with Auburn-Montgomery and Saturday’s contest with Spring Hill College will both be broadcast online courtesy of the SSAC’s via live video stream on the SSAC video page. To access the video, visit ssacsports.com and click on “Live Video Events.”
