He was the son of the late Lester and Annie Hawkins Mason.
He was a member of Boanerges Baptist Church.
He was retired from Arch Chemical with more than 32 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roberta Mason; son, Randall Mason; grandchildren: Brence Mason and Cody Mason and his wife, Ashley; great-grandchild, Brazin Mason; brothers: Kenneth Mason and James Mason, both of Cleveland, and Robert Mason of Old Fort; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Revs. Charles Cheatham and Randall Headrick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Boanerges Baptist Church Cemetery with Brence Mason, Cody Mason, Mark Mason, Gerald Mason, Daryl McCurry and Tony Ballew serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
