He was a self-employed builder having help build nuclear power plants in Florida.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Cleveland.
He never met a stranger where he didn’t share his faith and love for his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sherry Ellis; one son, Roger Ellis of Ohio; one stepson, Ray Boyd and his wife, Kristen, of Everett Wash.; six grandchildren; 16 stepchildren he helped raise and each of whom he loved; two sisters: Anita Poole of Cleveland and Joyce Daniels of Florida; two half-brothers: Allen Squires of Louisiana and Timmy Squires of Florida; aunt, Lois Addison; and uncle, Robert Martin, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Brian Silvenis officiating.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
The Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of arrangements.
