Both Malone and Grand View posted 36-hole scores of 603. Point Loma (Calif.) was third (611). Next came Johnson and Wales (Fla.) with a 612, while William Woods (Mo.) and the Cumberlands eased by the Flames with 618 and 624 totals.
John Manski (Grand View) won medalist honors with an outstanding 3-under par 141 over the 6, 994-yard course. He posted a 69 on opening day and came back with an even-par 72 on Tuesday.
Hunter Vest (74-77 - 151) was best for the Flames. He was tied for ninth overall. JB Eksteen was next (81-76 - 151) and tied for 29th. Matt Emery (78-81 - 159) and Jeremy Lawson (79-80 - 159) tied for 29th. Tyler Smith (86-82 - 168) tied for 76th.
The Flames will return to the links on April 23-25 and travel to The Oaks in Pass Christian, Miss., to take part in the annual Southern States Athletic Conference Tournament.
