Rover Comeer was a big hit at The Salvation Army’s event. He interacted with the kids and made lots of friends.
Children in the first through fifth grades, who were out of school for the holiday, attended The Salvation Army’s event at the city of Cleveland’s College Hill Recreation Center.
The focus of the camp was to keep local children active, offer a safe and fun environment and to ensure a memorable spring break.
“This was a great experience for these kids,” said Sgt. Ruthie Forgey, The Salvation Army Cleveland Corps administrator. “They learned a lot, and we saw lives changed for the good!”
The theme for the camp was Sky! Come Fly Away With Us! The creatively planned camp provided numerous activities to occupy and delight the children. Not only was there recreation time, but they enjoyed arts and crafts, lively music activities, energetic entertainment and interactive Bible studies.
“They not only had a fun spring break that they’ll remember, but their lives were touched with truth and love,” said Forgey.
Because of the success the Spring Break Camp experienced, The Cleveland Salvation Army looks forward to offering more camps for local children, according to Forgey.
