Anthony Carl “Tony” Howard, 40, a resident of Chatsworth, Ga., passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the family residence.

He was a 1990 graduate of Bradley Central High School.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Gladson Howard; paternal grandparents: George E. Howard Sr. and Thelma E. Howard; maternal great-grandparents: A.C. and Pearl Gee; aunts: Gwen Dean Gladson, Betty Howard and Bobbie Foster; and stepgrandfather, Harle Kinser.

He was the co-owner of Howard Machine. He was considered an exceptional machinist.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking out and spending time with his children. He was a member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Murray County, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Patches Howard of Chatsworth; daughters: Lacy Cooper and her husband, Steven, Emily Jean Howard and Kayley Faye Howard, all of Chatsworth; father, George E. “Sonny” Howard Jr. and his, wife, Elisa, of Cleveland; maternal grandparents: Carl and Mary J. Gladson of Cleveland; stepgrandmother, Nadine Kinser of Cleveland; aunts: Judy Dixon and Ruth Davis and her husband, Ray, all of Calhoun, and Mary Hembree of Cleveland; uncles: Charles Gladson and his wife, Gail, of Castlewood, Va. and Bob Foster of Charleston; and several cousins.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2012, from Wildwood Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Lee Ingram and the Rev. Mike Rymer officiating.

Interment will follow in the Samples Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with Brad Kinser, Jeff Anderson, Danny Dixon, Tim Foster, Jeff Stacy, Jeff Dixon, Ellis Knight and Jammy Miller serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
