Willis “Witt” Bryan, 86, a resident of Calhoun passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at his home.

He was the owner and operator of Ailey’s Garage in Charleston for many years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, who served during World War II in the South Pacific.

He was member of Calhoun United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Charleston Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.T. and Bess Willis Bryan; brother, Hugh E. Bryan; and brother and sister-in-law, L.C. and Ruby Bryan.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn G. Bryan of Calhoun; three children: Joe Bryan and wife, Luajean, of Calhoun, Jim Bryan and wife, Jane, of Ooltewah, and Jack Bryan and wife, Kim, of Cleveland; grandchildren: John Bryan of Cleveland, Adam Bryan and wife, Rebecca, of Chattanooga, Emily McGlohon and husband, Jeremy, of Chattanooga, Matt Bryan and wife, Carrie, of San Diego, Calif., Bob McGinnis of Athens and Mary Jane Bacon and husband, Brooks, of Soddy Daisy; four great-grandchildren: Sydney and Jake McGlohon and Katie and Lauren Bacon; brother, Jimmy Bryan and wife, Elizabeth, of Charleston; sister-in-law, Ruth Bryan of Calhoun; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. today, April 13, 2012, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Bryan and Pastor Mary Parson officiating.

Interment will be in Calhoun Cemetery Saturday at 11 a.m. with John Bryan, Adam Bryan, Jeremy McGlohon, Bob McGinnis, Andrew Myers and Steve Myers serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 this evening at the funeral home prior to the service.
