Mekelah McElrath and Pfc. Kiefer Rakestraw, both of Cleveland, will exchange wedding vows in a 6 p.m. ceremony on May 24 at the Fillauer Lake House.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Becky Peak of Cleveland and Scott McElrath of Charleston. She is the granddaughter of Kermit and Linda Peak of Cleveland and James and Gwen McElrath of Charleston. She is the sister of Sydni McElrath of Cleveland.

Miss McElrath is a 2011 honors graduate of Walker Valley High School and attended Chattanooga State Technical Community College.

The future bridegroom is the son of Jennifer Headrick of Maryville and Toge Rakestraw of Cleveland. He is the grandson of Thomas and Joyce Rakestraw of McDonald and Alice and Frank Lowe of Cleveland. He is the brother of Kass Rakestraw and Kyley Rakestraw, both of Cleveland, Samantha Headrick of Maryville and the late Stephanie Headrick.

Mr. Rakestraw, who is in the U.S. Army, is a 2011 graduate of Walker Valley High School.
