During this time, a brand new free workshop will be offered by Pete Vanderpool, local storyteller.
“’Equipped to Bless: Finding Relevance in the Stories of Life’” is based on the premise that we are each unique, yet we are all connected,” Vanderpool said.
“ We are unique because we are the result of the stories of our lives, interacting within us, waiting to be shared. We are connected because of the blessings we receive from others who have shared their stories with us. We are further connected as we share our lessons, emotions, and wisdom (our stories) with others.”
This interactive workshop explores how the stories of our lives can be identified, examined, and enjoyed. This can lead to many different outcomes: a quiet understanding of a story or series of stories; the telling or writing of a story to share with future generations; or sharing moments of joy or heartbreak for the benefit and blessing of others.
Individuals will learn to identify the importance of a story in your life, the ingredients of a story, recognize your uniqueness through story, realize the value of sharing your stories, appreciate why and how to share without fear, distinguish the presence of blessings where none are evident, and much, much more.
Vanderpool, a successful entrepreneur, speaker and author, has been a storyteller for over twenty years.
The happy incident of substituting for an ailing Santa at a mall in Wisconsin began a 21-year career as Santa Claus, and also led him into the storytelling genre. He is now focusing on story gathering — teaching how to find relevance in the stories of your life.
