Bank of Cleveland will host its annual Blood Assurance Blood Drive on Wednesday, noon to 2 p.m., at the main office at the Courthouse Square. The public is invited to participate.

Donors will receive a snack and complimentary T-shirt and may also register to win a three-night Nashville Getaway Package. Before donating blood, get a good night’s sleep, eat a meal and drink plenty of water.

Blood Assurance is a nonprofit, full-service regional blood center serving more than 50 health care facilities in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina.

Founded in 1972 as a joint effort of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society, the Chattanooga Area Hospital Council, and the Chattanooga Jaycees, the mission of Blood Assurance is to provide a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood components to every area patient in need.

Currently, there are 11 locations and 10 bloodmobiles to collect lifesaving blood products used by area patients. For more information about blood assurance and to view donation requirements, visit www.bloodassurance.org.
