Classic car enthusiasts will be able to see restored cars and other special interest vehicles as they line the streets of downtown.
The Mainstreet Cruise-In has grown by an average of 20 percent in the number of cruisers attending the event over the past two years.
Last season nearly 600 vehicles a month lined the courthouse square and surrounding streets with participants coming from as far away as Florida, Illinois, Texas and Delaware.
Stroll the streets, shop, have dinner in one of the locally owned restaurants and enjoy specialty foods such as funnel cakes, kettle corn, and fried apple pies from the vendors. Music from the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s fills the air adding to nostalgic atmosphere.
Participate in the model car contest and the 50/50 drawing with 50 percent of the proceeds going to a local charity.
The swap meet is located in the parking lot on Broad Street south of Inman Street. Spaces are free and are available on a first come bases.
The Cruise-In is free to enter a vehicle and free to spectators.
It continues on the fourth Saturday of each month through October.
