He was a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Deva Bates Jones, and stepfather, Doug Jones, both of Benton; wife, Belinda Goforth Couey; and four children: LaShawn, Nathaniel, Amethyst, and Patrick Couey.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. today, April 22, 2012, at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Charles Moore and the Rev. Paul Gregg officiating.
Interment will follow at Archville Church Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 today at the funeral home prior to the service.
