Thomas Earl Dobbs, 70, of Cleveland, and a former resident of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, in an Etowah health care facility.

He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the United States Army.

He was a member of Old Ocoee Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ola Jane Kirkland Dobbs.

He is survived by his twin sons: Larry Earl Dobbs and Gary James Dobbs, of Munich, Germany; sister, Peggy Waters of Cleveland; special niece, Glenda Morrow of Cleveland; niece, Carla Abney of Nobleton, Fla.; nephews: Randy Lee of Benton and Jerry Prichett, both of Navarre, Fla.; great- niece and nephew, Rena Shell of Cleveland and Tony Lee of Dawnville, Ga.; special aunt, Minnie Price of Reliance; a very close and dear friend, Rod Swallows of Cleveland; and many truck driving buddies; and Kara Tulloss, a very dear person to the entire family.

The funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. David Qualls and the Rev. Jerry Prichett officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
