Approximately 150 area youth participated in the Cleveland Family YMCA and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Fish Safety Day. The two organizations joined together to offer kids a safe environment in which to learn how to fish. TWRA supplied the fish, bait and poles, while the YMCA gave access for fishing in the outdoor pool. The event was an opportunity to allow families to have fun in a unique way, said Lee McChesney, YMCA Vice President and Executive Director. This past Saturday the YMCA was very busy with family activities including Fish Safety Day, flag football, as well as recruitment day for Boy Scout Troop 10 with Waterville Baptist Church. The Scouts demonstrated camping, campfire cooking and more. Brodie Rice, left, was helped by his grandfather Eddie Rice in landing a catfish.
