Dr. William “Bill” Johnson II, a 1963 graduate of Bradley Central High School, will address the Class of 2012.
Dr. Johnson graduated from UT College of Medicine in 1969. After fulfilling his one-year internship in 1970, Dr. Johnson attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he completed his 4-year residency in 1976.
He is a board certified fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society.
Dr. Johnson is on staff at SkyRidge Medical Center, where he has served for many years. He is a full -time general surgeon and has held many positions at the former Bradley Memorial Hospita, including past president of the Medical Society.
From 1970-1972, Dr. Johnson served as a captain in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Goldsboro, N.C.
In 1969 he married Jackie Johnson, a native of Nashville. They have three grown children, all who graduated from Cleveland High School, as well as a Honduran daughter who attends Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens and 6 grandchildren who reside in Chattanooga.
Dr. Johnson is an active member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, where he plays guitar in the contemporary worship service and teaches Sunday School. He and his wife lead two mission trips each year to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, where he works in the medical clinic built by his team.
Dr. Johnson is also a member of the Bradley Sunrise Rotary Club.
