Hazel E. Conar, 90, of Cleveland and formerly of Niota, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Bradley Rehab Center.
A native of Monroe County and a resident of Niota most of her life, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Julia Strickland Queen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Franklin Conar, on March 7, 1990.
She was a member of East Niota Baptist Church and attended Maple Street Baptist Church in Cleveland.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law: Joseph F. “Joe” Conar and wife, Frankie, and Robert L. “Bob” Conar, all of Cleveland; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at McMinn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jim Cawood and Wayne Finnell officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens.
