Baumgardner to give pictorial presentation on English gardens

“A Taste of English Gardens,” a pictorial presentation by Ruth Baumgardner, will be held at the Cleveland Bradley County Public Library May 22 at 7 p.m. in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room.

Baumgardner and her husband, Erbin, are owners of Mouse Creek (Nursery) Perennial Farm, in Riceville. This program is based on over 30 English Gardens both private and public visited by Baumgardner last year.

Baumgardner is past president of the Perennial Plant Association, having served as southeastern director and chairman of the Education Committee. She has served on the Education Committee of TNLA and East Tennessee Director for the Tennessee Flower Growers’ Association. In 2004, the Tennessee Master Gardeners named Baumgardner as Honorary Master Gardener for her 10 years of service, teaching perennial classes to aspiring gardeners in four Tennessee counties.

In 2005 at the Perennial Plant Association Symposium in Knoxville, the Heterotheca Villosa “Ruth Baumgardner” was in this program is one of the activities scheduled as part of the Adult Summer Reading program, “Between the Covers.”
