NEW PARENTS Derek and Alanda Schultz were presented a handmade cloth storybook for their son, Hayden, who was born May 3 at SkyRidge Medical Center. The Inquirers Family and Community Education Club member Patricia Pierce made the presentation.

The FCE group made 16 books for Books for Newborns, a community service project. A second book is presented to the child at his or her first birthday to further promote the importance of reading to young children. Books for Newborns is a nationwide effort to improve literacy for children.
