A workshop for family caregivers will be offered on May 22, 10 a.m. to noon, at the Meigs County Senior Senior in Decatur.
Presentations on home healthcare and Social Security benefits will be given:
n “What Home Healthcare Can and Cannot Do for You” will be presented by Stacie Graham from Guardian Health Care.
- “Social Security: Understanding the Rules and Navigating the Maze” will be presented by a representative from the Social Security Administration.
“The life of the person you are caring for has likely changed forever,” explained Steve Witt, director of the Area Agency on Aging and Disability.
“As a caregiver your life may change dramatically. It is important that caregivers discover what resources are out there to help you.”
Designed especially for individuals caring for loved ones, this workshop will equip caregivers with practical information on resources and services that are available to assist them, as well as the opportunity to interact with other adults who are in similar situations.

The Caregiver Workshop will be held at the Meigs County Senior Center, which is located at 351 River Road in Decatur.
The Caregiver Workshop is provided by the Southeast Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability, a program of the Southeast Tennessee Development District.
