Jack L. Leamon, 75, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012, at the home of his daughter in Rising Fawn, Ga.

He worked at Charleston Hosiery Mill as a machinist for 35 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in France, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leamon and Eula Swafford Leamon.

He was a devoted and loving father to his children: Sandy Derryberry of Rising Fawn, C.S.M. David Leamon and wife, Haevenly of Ft. Bragg, N.C., Jim Leamon and wife, Kathy, of Boca Raton, Fla., and Mark Leamon of Signal Mountain; grandchildren: Thomas Leamon of the United States Army, Afghanistan, Martin Leamon of Knoxville, and Lauren and Joseph Derryberry of Rising Fawn; and he is also survived by his sweetheart of 30 years, Dean Suits of Cleveland.

The funeral will be at held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Straus officiating.

Interment will follow in Swafford Cemetery in McMinn County with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
