He was the son of the late Raymond Dixon and Lena Aldridge Dixon. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers: Randall Dixon and Troy Dixon.
He is survived by his two children: Lance Dixon and wife, Mary, of Chattanooga and Lisa Ogle of Riceville; four grandchildren: Holli Simko and Taylor Ogle, both of Cleveland, Jessica Dixon and Bradley Dixon, both of Chattanooga; one brother, Ken Dixon of Cleveland; one sister, Brenda Dixon of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at noon Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Morris officiating.
Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery with Brad Dixon, Taylor Ogle, Shaun Turner and Marty Dixon serving as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Humane Society.
