He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Shelton Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Karen S. Bishop, of Benton; children: Chad W. Bishop, Lonnie R. Bishop, Robert Bishop and Shelia Black; brothers: Wayne Bishop, Brownlow Bishop and Sonny Bishop; and sisters: Bonnie Bishop and Helen Bishop.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home with the Revs. Ray Cheatum and Carl Haulk officiating.
Interment will follow the service in the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
