He was born in Ocala, Fla., on Nov. 18, 1965, a son of the late James Pilcher. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force with more than 10 years of service receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Organizational Excellence Award, and the Air Force Good Conduct Award.
He lived in the Florida area until relocating to the Athens area a little over seven years ago. He received a bachelor’s of science degree in biology/pre-med and worked many years as a registered nurse. He was an ordained minister and was pursuing a master of religious arts degree from Brewer Christian College.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by one brother, Michael W. Pilcher.
He leaves here to cherish his memory his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Andrew Wallace, of Athens; a special niece, Ashley Pilcher, of Athens; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Becker officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors.
