He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Jones; mother, Ethel Jones; sisters: Naomi Kuykendall and Karen Robinette; and brother, Virgil Jones
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Jeremy and Tara Jones of Decatur, daughters and sons-in-law; Shari and Jerome Wilford and Stephanie and Lucas Wright, all of Athen,s and LaShea Fortner of Sneedville; grandsons: Gage and Mason Wilford; granddaughter: Teagan Jones; brothers: Bud Jones, Lynn Jones and Gene Jones, all of Cleveland, Dale Jones of Boone, N.C., and Dennis Jones of Sneedville; sisters: Rose Anita Hayes of Bean Station and Elaine Nance, Alice Jones and Patricia Messer, all of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the McNeil Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Roberts and Larry Jones officiating.
Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at the Jones Cemetery in Rose Hill, Va.
Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Robinette, Bud Jones, Josh Jones, Matthew Messer, Aaron Jones and Chris Moore.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, 124 Church St., Sneedville, TN 37869.
